Muhammad Ali’s lesson

Muhammad Ali’s uplifting funeral service reminded the entire world that until very recently this great person, the Champ, lived among us. It also showed us how humanity’s greatness can manifest itself.

Unique in life, Muhammad Ali managed to unite people even in his death. His funeral, at the outset of the Holy Month of Ramadan, became a celebration of diversity, unity, inclusiveness and human dignity. True to his belief, Muhammad Ali overcame the ‘impossible” and paid his rent on this Earth by serving others.

Muhammad Ali’s spirituality is an inspiration for most and an admonition to some. The message of Muhammad Ali’s legacy should not be overshadowed by dark clouds of violence and hatred.

At the time, when ugly fanaticism and terror strike again, the example of Muhammad Ali’s rejection of violence, his strength in illness and personal evolution offer a much needed ray of light on a dark day.

Rest in Peace, Champ, thank you for all the lessons your keep teaching us!
