1993 - 2006 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the USA (also accredited in Mexico and Canada)

2006 – On August 14 was appointed the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, also the Rector of Azerbaijani MFA Diplomatic Academy. Author of more than 100 scientific works and 2 monographs, as well as the articles on various socio-political issuies in local and international media.
